Ferry Information

As you may well know, New Zealand is made up of 3 main islands; North Island, South Island and Stewart Island. If you want to travel from the North Island to the South Island or vice versa, you need to hop on a ferry at either Picton (in the South Island) or Wellington (in the North Island).

These ferries will take you across the Cook Strait in around 3½ hours. In our peak season during the summer months, it’s a good idea to book in advance. For ticket prices and other ferry information, check out Bluebridge.
